What else is PASA doing about Debit Order Abuse?PASA has initiated the “Thembeka” Campaign.
The campaign focuses on positive reinforcement as opposed to the negative
consequences associated with not honouring your debit orders.
To be “Thembeka” is to be honourable. To honour your debit orders is the right thing
to do. A five step plan was developed to promote this.
THE THEMBEKA STEPSTO HONOUR A DISPUTE OR DEBIT ORDER.
STEP01Check your bank
statement & the debit
orders deducted.
STEP02Have you given a
mandate to that
company who is
removing that money.
If yes, honour
the debit order.
STEP03If you do not know
who this company is,
ask your bank
who it is.
STEP04Then approach the
company or entity
that is debiting your
account to check if
you did give them a
mandate.
STEP05If you have given a
